Halfast is the loyal follower of Hung Well
and friend of Beldar, Fatima, and Je. Often used as bait on hunting
expeditions, Halfast has acquired the nickname "vitae boy" from
his frequent use of the life stones.
From his humble beginnings in Eastham Halfast learned from the great archery master Hung Well the tools of his trade. This friendship continued to Lin where he frequently made the trip from the life stone to the Golem Spire without any of his armor. Eventually graduating to Ayan Baquar Halfast terrorized the denizens of the upper levels of the Hall of Metos, looting other people's kills, until his skill had progressed enough for him to build the coveted Composite Bow. Affectionately know to the Tuskers, Shadows, Grievers and lately, Skeletons as "a light snack" Halfast takes pride in knowing that the resident Swamp Gromnies around Weijou fear his name. Halfast regularly scours the walls looking for unsuspecting creatures to shoot in the back.
Halfast's only real claim to fame lies in
his portal tie to the old subway. Often he will stand unarmed in front
of the fort casting Summon Portal for the gaggle of lost souls desperately
trying to get back to safer lands.

Ja Son is the love child of Halfast and a Gharu'ndim tavern wench. Upon learning the true identity of her child's father, Ja Son's mother promptly took her own life leaving the poor child alone in the streets of Yaraq. Pitied by all because of his hopeless lineage, Ja Son grew up believing the world owed him something. Taking after his illustrious father, Ja Son can be found hiding behind larger warriors, looting other's kills, and shopping for new spell components. Ja Son had taken up with his half brother Eric the Awful, a resident of Khayyabann, and is honing his mage skills so that one day he too can follow in his father's footsteps: to wrest the world of Dereth from the clutches of darkness.
